Sustainably sourced timber
All timber is FSC accredited: FSC forest management certification confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustains economic viability. FSC-certified forests are managed to strict environmental, social and economic standards.
Environmental Credentials
- We use RADIX ground screw foundations. They eliminate the use of concrete and cement and offer a host of environmental benefits:
- The screws produce 60% less CO2 than an equivalent concrete foundation – during manufacture/installation.
- The use of ground screws eliminates the requirement to excavate, and therefore the use of heavy machinery which compact soil and damage the landscape.
- The screws mean we can protect existing vegetation including trees and is a preferred installation method by planners when dealing with planning aplications and tree root protection areas. (RPAs)
- Plus, they are recyclable and removable!
- For more detailed information on our groundscrew installation, go to our partners at Sheffield Ground Screws.
- We insulate with 75mm Kingspan to reduce the need to heat the building.
- We use materials that have guaranteed lifespans to reduce the need to rebuild.
- We use local suppliers and workforce which also helps in reducing our carbon footprint.
- We are aware how building works can effect the neighbourhood and we make sure we arrive after 8am and are leaving site by 4.30pm so that clients and neighbours can enjoy their own gardens in peace and quiet.
